Great video and thank you for the plans!

Note for others. Unless you already have the “SketchUp” program installed on your computer, stick with the PDF.

RESIST the human curiosity to view the SK file and avoid screwing around with installing the proprietary “SketchUp” program, it’s clearly for professional designers who have a decent modern computer. I wasted my time installing the SketchUp software only to find that the only version that would install was too old to open the SK file above.

“_Eu amo seus projetos cara! Você é realmente o super de todos os caras que lançam vídeos explicativos sobre marcenaria, porque seus projetos além de serem superfantásticos são realmente muito bem explicados. Parabéns por sua filantropia em compartilhar conosco seus projetos e experiência e muito boa sorte em tudo. deus Jeová os abençoe sempre. Amém!”

Is it possible to adjust the size so it will accommodate a queen bed? If so, will there be enough support or will you have to add more in the middle?

I would love to try this project. 3 questions: what are the side and end cleats exactly? what is the width of the side and end rails ( ? x75 3/4 x 3/4)? And where is the leg crossbar dowel used (I don’t see it anywhere on the plans other than the cutting layout page)? Thank you so much, I’ve wanted to do this for years, with your plans this seems very doable.

OK, I feel slightly stupid. Now that I’ve watched the video 2 of my questions have been answered. Sorry!! My only remaining question is the width of the side and end rails.

    Thank you!

      I had the same question. I looked at the sketchup model. Dimensions are 75-3/4″ x 4-1/2″ x 3/4″ and 56-1/8″ x 4-1/2″ x 3/4″.

Do you tie the bed to the wall? Is it screwed to the wall or does it just sort of lean against the wall.

Husband and I built one of these and he closed the bed up and drilled a hole through the outside and through the mattress box support and used a really long bolt. Just slide it in and that’s it. We done one on each side. But if you build close to a wall on one side you can just use one bolt. Worked perfect

Hi, and thanx for that nice video and walkthrough of how to build a murphy bed.
Im from Denmark, Europe, so I headed for checking out the plans in metric, nice feature, but I do have a question.

Is it ment for Canadians building in metric or? asking since it must a direct translated (inches to centimeters)
since the room for the mattress in the length is 12 cm shorter than our standard european measures , which would be, in this matter, a mattress of the size 140 cm W, by 200 cm L.

I looked at the mechanism that has the link provided here. It’s over $500. What about this mechanism makes it so pricey. The pivot part of the mech is never shown in the video. Or did I miss it?

I am building a side folding full murphy bed and everything is in place; however, I am struggling with the pivot location. How do determine the location of the pivots? I have these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0143E57HY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0041EBSX4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1.

Which Casper Bed did you use (thickness) and does it matter for these plans? Their website has three sizes, from 11.5″ to 8.5″ Thanks!
